Katie Brinkmeyer is a first-time ACRD presenter. While she is new to us, she not new to Social Security law. Katie worked as an attorney advisor at the Office of Hearing Operations in Indianapolis, Indiana, from 2010 to 2019. As an attorney advisor, she conducted in-depth legal analysis on Title II and Title XVI claims and wrote thousands hearing-level decisions covering a wide range of issues, procedural and substantive, in the determination of disability for Title II and Title XVI claims. Katie took her knowledge back to the private Sector in September of 2019 and represents clients at all levels of adjudication from initial applications to filing civil actions in the USDC for wrongful denial(s) of Social Security benefits. She has been a partner at KBAR Legal Services LLP since 2023.

Katie is an active member of the Indiana State Bar Association, NOSSCR, and ACRD.

Katie is a graduate of the Kelley School of Business and the Mauer School of Law at Indiana University, Bloomington and is admitted to the Indiana State Bar, Northern District of Indiana, Southern District of Indiana, the Illinois State Bar, Northern District of Illinois, Southern District of Illinois, and Central District of Illinois.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys hiking with her husband and two daughters. She was appointed as Judge for the United States Figure Skating Association in 2025, and is an active judge, coach, and figure skater. She made her return to competitive figure skating last season and competed at the US National Showcase Competition a soloist and in a duet with her eldest daughter.
