James Mitchel Brown is a founder and past president of NOSSCR. He has been instrumental in getting Social Security to withhold attorney fees on SSI claims as well as getting it to lower the user fee. He sold his practice in 2002 for health reasons and opened Attorney Consultant Inc. in 2004. He has become known as the nation’s leading consultant for small and mid-sized law firms.

In the 90’s, before many of the current techniques were in place, Jim was bringing in over two hundred clients per month. He had solid, well-developed intake procedures that Have evolved further through his years as a consultant.

Jim Helps firms with intake, case management, business and marketing plans, branding, buying, and selling practices, crisis management and every part of a practice that needs change and improvement.

As part of his consulting, he has become the country expert helping representatives when they get an Inquiry letter or sanction notice from the Office of General Counsel. Jim has helped representatives on over three hundred Inquiry Letters and has been the attorney of record when Social Security has tried to sanction representatives.

Jim has been an attorney since 1973 and is the only person to have received NOSSCR’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
